Piano class recital

Time flies. It’s already the last week of August.

My dear student, Ms. E left for the U.S. to start her university education.

I was saddened to see her off, and then one of my dear students gave me some consolation words: “ You( me, Ms. Madoka ) will be alright!” So sweet!

We had a students’ recital on July 1. This date was selected in order to cater for my international students’ summer schedule. Many went home as soon after school was dismissed in early June.

Picking up a date everybody could participate was really difficult, and there was no way I could reserve public or popular halls, but, I am blessed to have a connection to an owner of a fantastic salon with a Steinway piano and great view + such an elegant atmosphere. Everybody was happy to have a concert there.

This time, too, I invited Ms. Chieko Ozawa’s KOTO students, and I quickly composed two music pieces for KOTO & PIANO in order to introduce this rare combination of ensemble to our guests.

Everything went well! Very thankful.

Now, many students are learning new pieces for the next recital. I am thrilled to give my best to each student of mine. I love teaching!

I also got a new super comfortable piano stool, and this chair really brought a big change in my piano practicing hours.

Some concerts are coming up in November: a chamber music concert December; a soprano& piano recital, and in between, a church ministry concert at my pastor friend’s church.

I will post the concert information.
