All I want for her is that she would be able to play this one piece, her dream piece!
One of my dear students has been learning piano at a not-so-rapid pace and since she gets busy with her school work, the road becomes bumpier.
This fluctuation of learning pace happens with everybody at any time, so I do not get overly upset.
However, motivating young students to keep learning is quite a task;I mean, there is no manual or a way or ways that work for everybody.
Unless students are determined that they want to acquire a certain level of skilled musicianship, mastering classical music pieces often demands painfully much discipline, attention, and training.
I know it very well; therefore, I feel that it is my job to make the process of mastering musical pieces least painful as possible, in other words, as joyful as possible and smooth as possible.
I try to minimize their practice time and make the process as concise as possible.
Make the goal as clear and accessible as possible by drawing mind maps and using practice apps etc.
The practice plans should be as constructive as possible.
Use mind maps ( Talk about this some other time)
I make Instructive demonstration videos so that students can watch them at home.
Well, I am still in the process and finding that there are piano techniques we can not acquire in haste. However, there are abilities we can attain in organized and efficient ways too.
I really feel if a little girl started to learn piano and take lessons from me, I would have to make her be able to play the dream piece she wanted.
After that, with a sense of accomplishment, even whenstudents may stay taking lessons or take some rest, I wish to all the students that music remains as their friend thorough their lives.
